Once again in my life I have become hopelessly addicted to a beverage.
In college and medical school, I drank a ton of Mt. Dew per day. Going through a 6 pack during a day was nothing for me. I drank so much sugar that I developed a true gut. Imagine a scarecrow with a little ole man beer gut — that was me!
In medical school my Mt. Dew addiction was even worse. I switched to the diet ones and shed the pounds; however, I was constantly needing to drink a beverage to keep the caffeine headaches away. Finally, in my third year of medical school, I quit cold turkey, and I have been mostly caffeine-free since.
Over the last few years I have slowly allowed myself to get into decaf coffee beverages. I know they have some caffeine, but I have been able to keep it under control.
And then my wife started buying me Perfectly Protein Mocha Cappuccino. Now, I am totally addicted. Totally addicted.
A bunch of other people must be addicted as well. All of our local grocery stories are always sold out of it. There will be plenty of the Perfectly Protein Vanilla Chai (which my wife loves), but there is hardly ever any of the mocha.
On my last run to target looking for a wii I was going to pick up a few bottles. There was another guy there already. He was just completely cleaning out the rack. He must have bought a dozen bottles. I must not be the only one addicted…
I am going to email this blog post to them. Maybe they will make us a sponsor… and then I can get all the Protein Mocha I want!
(Imagine my homer simpson drooling sound as I completely lose touch with reality.)
