Maximize Desktop Space
June 18th, 2007
If you are running out of desktop space, here are some tips to clean it up.
1. Remove the icons of programs you don’t use. If you don’t use it, don’t have it scattered all over your desktop. And if you may need it later, put it in a folder.
2. Reduce the size of the icons. By custom sizing the icons, you can make them go as small as possible.
3. Don’t download to the desktop. Instead, create a folder on the desktop saying Downloads. This makes the files easy to access while not taking up precious space.
This is a screenshot of my desktop:
See how tiny the icons are!

For those that want to make Windows programs, Microsoft does give you a set of tools to work with. It is called Visual Studio. (I prefer Visual Basic .NET out of them all. It is the easiest to learn and for me, it makes the most sense.) Best of all, it’s free!
