  • iPod won’t respond?

    March 19th, 2007 by professoripod

There are a few things you can do here. The first option is using the “Hold” switch at the top of your iPod. Turn it on and off a few times. For the iPod shuffle, hold down the “Play” button for a few seconds, activating the hold, then holding it again releases the hold.

Now try your iPods buttons again. If that didn’t work, the next best thing you could try is the “Hard Reset”. This is achieved in different ways, depending on what generation iPod you have.

If you have an iPod which has the click wheel, press the “Action” (Center) and “Menu” buttons at the same time. If you have a pre-click wheel iPod, press the “Play” and “Menu” buttons at the same time.

If you have an iPod shuffle, turn the rear switch off, then on. If you are still having trouble, a “Disk Scan” is recommended.

my 11/2 year old Video Classic froze than the battery ran out. It will not respond to the USB or Wall adapter. What do you think? Greg

My wheel will respond to reset and that’s it. It won’t do anything else. My hold button does respond. It will reset and then not work for any other thing I try to do with it.
