  • iPod won’t turn on?

    March 24th, 2007 by professoripod

Well, we both have something in common then :\

Most of the time, this is due to a dead battery. Give your iPod a few hours to charge and try again. You may want to try the “Hold” switch and the “Hard Reset” also. If the problem persists, you probably need a new screen, battery or hard drive, depending on where the problem lies.

Hey, I’ve tried hard reset on my ipod but it still doesn’t turn on..

It’s fully charged, I was listening to it and then I was putting on the next song.. it froze so I keep pressing keys, it then unfrozed and it went all weird like going through the songs really fast and without playing them if you get me..

SO, I stupidly turned it off and now it just won’t turn on.. I’ve tried reset and everything and it just doesn’t seem to turn on.. HELP please?

I have been having the same issue with my Ipod. It wont turn on at all (nothing on screen/computer wont recognize it) changed the screen, battery,HDD,wheel and still nothing. I can only assume the problem is with a cold solderjoint on the logicboard

I have a problem with my iPod, which, from what I gathered, can only be solved with getting some piece replaced. My question to you all is, what gets effected when you disconnect your iPod when the screen says “Do Not Disconnect?” I did that and it won’t turn on anymore. I held the reset button down several times, for long periods of time, but it still won’t turn on. I tried plugging it into a charger, rather than my computer, and still nothing. I just want to know what could be the main cause so I know what the repair person may be replacing and I’m not charged a bundle for just hooking up a couple of cables.

Thank you all. You have been a big help.

Ok… well a friend gave me a 30gb Ipod Photo i believe. it was almost dead and of course me getting a new Ipod needed to see if it worked. in the process of listening my Ipod died. I’ve charged it for over 7 hours wont turn on. cant reset it because it wont turn on. (Oh by the way in the mist of charging i took it off the charger and waited like 5-10 mins and put it back on the suddenly the apple ipod logo popped onto the screen for like 2 secs then shut off) i wasnt told if this ipod was being used on a mac or not and im wondering if hooking it up to windows xp would have an effect on this ipod if its usually used on a mac.

      Thank You

I tried repairing a broken Ipod Video 30gb 5th gen by replacing the logic board after reassembling it it turned on and I was able to put songs on it and listen to them. When unplugged the battery icon displayed the plugged in icon and after leaving it for a night it will no longer turn on or be detected by my computer.

my 4th generation iPod nano wont turn on.
ive tried all the obvious things such as resetting it by holding the the menu and centre button and after doing this plenty of times nothing has happened.
This started when i put it onto to my ipod docking station and as soon as i put it on it made a noise and then turned off and hasnt turned back on since. I then left my ipod alone overnight and the day after tht. My battery was pretty much full when it went off so it isnt that. Then i connected to my laptop but iTunes wasnt picking it up.

      Please Help Me !!

So, i was just listening to my ipod and then it suddenly turned off! It syncs to the computer but once I eject it,the screen goes completely black. It still has more than half the battery so it can’t be out of batteries. I’ve tried everything and I don’t know what to do!
