Maybe these instructions are for VISTA PC's ... I couldn't find the "Portable Media Devices" folder in the Control Panel. All I did was I went to "My Computer" and right-clicked on the iPod and went to "explore" and navigate to "iPod_Control\Music" then go to "Tools --> Folder Options" then go to the "View" tab, and under "Hidden Files and folders" select "Show hidden files and folders".

Then follow his last instructions...

- Select all music folders, drag & drop them into a folder on your hard drive.

Now, be aware of the fact that the folder structure will be strange and obscure, so to fix this, move your files into iTunes and set it to organize your files.

How would you do that? Easy.

- Go to Edit > Preferences.

- In the advanced tab, check "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized".

go to my computer and double click your ipod, this will take you to another window. then on the to left hand side press the tools tab. at the bottom press, folder options. then press the second tab, 'view' and find “Show Hidden Files & Folders”. and press that then press apply and ok. then click on ipod_control, then music. there you have all the songs on your ipod drag them to your hard drive.
then follow the rest of the instuctions above!

I'm from Brazil (Sao Paulo).
Please, on an Apple iPod, is there a way to set the volume so that every song plays at the same volume level?
Thank you.

Here's how it really works. Windows Explorer (or click on "My Computer"), my iPod shows up as a "Device with Removable Storage" - F:

Right click it. Select Properties. Select the Sharing tab. This is as far as I have made it. I do not see a way to access any of the music files at all.

If you're referring to "Printers & Other Hardware" - it's not displayed there.

It's also not displayed anywhere in the "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" category.

Obviously not in "Appearance and Themes" or "User Accounts" or "Security Center" so what the hell are you talking about?
