@ Courtney (no. 10)

You're a legend. As soon as I unticked that 'manually manage' button I was able to sync.

Hopefully this sorts it for good because iTunes did tell me there was an error and therefore to restore my iPod which I did but still wouldn't sync until now. Fingers crossed.

I wanted to see if Winamp would work with my ipod as well as Itunes since that program updates the media library and Itunes does not. I discovered later today that somehow all my songs became erased off my ipod when it wouldn't play. Then when I went to sync my ipod to itunes, it immediately started restarting itself over and over. What do I do?

OKAY! I ahve a 2g Nano. And It's been syncing all my songs for the past two or three years w/out ANY problems. But out of no where, today i plug it in, it shows up on my computer and everything and I wanted to sync a new playlist to my iPod. But when i clicked Sync it said the required disk or whatever was not found! And on top of that iTunes decided to be funny and it deleted ALL my songs off my iPod. So I ahve a songless iPod. And I can't sync anything! And I restored it, well I tried but it won't even let me do that! WHAT DO I DO!?

So i tried what keith said, and it still had the same problem, with detecting my ipod, but throwing the camera options crap at me, recognizing it as a camera instead of an ipod.

turns out the only additional thing i had to do was to cancel the "MobileMe" advertisement that was brought up under the device page.. never would have thought that would stop me from syncing but it did.

hope i helped

Does anyone know how to do the opposite of this? That is, instead of "manualAtomRemove" I want a "manualAtomAdd" or "manualAtomSet" to change values inside. Specifically, the "xid " Atom.

I am having a similar problem as everyone else. I plug in my ipod and it starts the sync. then itunes freezes and the only way to unfreeze is to unplug it and itunes returns to normal. when i look in my library it shows only 10 songs and it keeps telling that the folder to sync is missing???... reseted the ipod 5 times and restored it. someone help because the obvious solutions like reseting the ipod and reinstalling itunes is not working.

Joe (number #45) worked a charm! Got a new mouse which was messing with my iPod obviously, which is really wierd. Unplugged it, let it sync and such, and plugged it back in.

Thought it was serious with all the error messages and stuff but it works fine now C: Thanks!
