Decorating your rooms is one of the great things about YoVille, but you will quickly get bored with dealing the flat and squarely shaped room designs. You can spice up your creation by using optical illusions and changing the perspective to give the impression of having a split level room complete with stairs.
To illustrate this, I will show you before and after screenshots of my avatar’s apartment.
Here’s the bedroom before, pretty boring!

Here’s how it looks after using the bookshelves and windows to create the illusion of a multi-level room.

Here’s the kitchen before:

And after:

and finally, here’s the living room before:

and after:

I started off doing this with the bedroom because I found that the room was too large to be just a bedroom, but too flat to really have anything else there. By splitting the room up, I have a sleeping area and an office area. I used some 125 coin entertainment stands for the stairs, and lined up the windows and bookshelves to create a second floor line.

The kitchen also gave me some problems when it came to design, but using the windows and “sinking” them into the wood tiles, I have another split level room, but with a more shallow second level.

Finally, the living room. I split up the TV area and the sitting area by using Taku bath mirrors for a shallow stepdown area. I used a rug to add even more separation between levels.

What creative measures have you taken to make your rooms look the way you want them to?

are you able to actually send your avatar into the lowered levels? I would love to do this, but only if I can still use the lower level. Thanks!

I don’t think they have the entertainment centers anymore…or at least I could not find…any other items you recommend to try for the stairs?

Hello! I used a couple of your AWESOME design ideas. How do I go about giving you credit?
Oh and Ange…The entertainment centers are still available. They are located in the Tables section.
