MP3 blog exist for the simple purpose of showing off (usually) underground and unsigned artists. MP3 bloggers (usually) do this out of a love for music and not to promote a band. If you’d like to expand your musical horizons and get acquainted with some new bands, check out the great Tofu Hut which has links to dozens MP3 blogs around the web. Well worth it for music junkies.

Open-source software replacements for Windows

Open-source applications are great because they are free and are generally update and have new features added fairly often. Best of all, there’s no catch, no spyware, and no junk. I came upon a great list over at the Unofficial Microsoft Weblog. The list includes great applications such as GIMP, GAIM, and 7-zip.
